ACCOLADE RELEASES HARDBALL '94 FOR THE SEGA GENESIS
FEATURES REAL PLAYERS FROM THE MLBPA AND REAL BALLPARKS

Category: Baseball Simulation
Price and Availability: Sega Genesis (16 megs), $69.95

SAN JOSE, CA - July 11, 1994--Sport Accolade, recognized as an industry
leader in sports simulations, today announced the release of Hardball '94
starring the real players from the Major League Baseball Players
Association (MLBPA). The latest installment from the publisher with the
most successful line of baseball simulations on the market today, HardBall
'94 features the real players from the MLBPA complete with their photos
displayed in a familiar baseball card format and all 28 realistically
rendered big league ballparks. The game also provides players with a
battery back-up that gives players the ability to save data including
League leader statistics which saves the top ten in accumulated
statistical categories, a feature no other product offers. HardBall '94 is
available now for the Sega Genesis at a suggested retail price of $69.95.

In addition to the real players and real ballparks, HardBall '94 includes
the new 1994 League/Division/Playoff realignment structure. The new
realignment allows players twice as many teams (8) to participate in post
season play, bettering their chances of getting to the World
Championships. HardBall '94 has also improved the "artificial
intelligence" making for a smarter, more aggressive computer opponent.

HardBall '94 is a one or two player game offering a variety of ways to
play. Players can compete in exhibition games, half and short seasons, a
complete 162 game season, an all-star game and the World Championships.
They can also sharpen their batting skills in the Practice Cage or they
can challenge a friend in the Home Run Derby. Players can select from two
ballpark views, the perspective of the pitcher or the batter.

The game can also be modified using the Player Editor whereby two teams can
be customized and player and pitcher statistics and attributes can be
changed. Players who customize their game can save their data using the
battery back-up feature that saves information even after the game has
been turned off. The battery back-up also saves accumulated statistics of
every player in the league, team standings of a season in progress,
personal highlight reels, and it can even track the top ten League leaders
in various statistical categories, a capability no other product has.
Player statistics are based on final 1993 season end stats.

"Realism is very important to consumers and our consumers are very
important to us," said Pam Levins, the executive producer of the game.
"HardBall '94 now has 700 real players from the MLBPA, complete with the
photos and all 28 major league ballparks accurately rendered. Baseball
fans that have played our other HardBall games are sure to be thrilled
with the new features in HardBall '94."
