ACCOLADE'S COMBAT CARS IS A WACKY ARCADE-STYLE RACING GAME THAT CAN STOP
YOU RIGHT IN YOUR TRACKS

Category: Action-Arcade Racing
Pricing and Availability: Sega Genesis (8 megs) - June, $39.95

SAN JOSE, CA - July 11, 1994--Racing fans get ready for Combat Cars, a
fast-paced arcade-style racing game set in a classic top-down arcade view.
Energized with white knuckle action, Combat Cars has drivers maneuvering
through 24 grueling race tracks, in six different locations each with four
short laps. Accolade today released Combat Cars for the Sega Genesis at a
suggested retail price of $39.95.

Combat Cars has a line up of eight distinct drivers, each racing a
different car with its own different handling characteristics. True to its
name, Combat Cars comes equipped with weapons that provide players with
the means to blow away the competition. Quickly and easily, players can
set mine traps, activate turbo thrusts, shoot heat seeking missiles,
spatter oil slicks and drop gobs of glues. All guaranteed to stop the
competition right in their tracks. Players can also gain that all
important competitive edge by strategically using their weapons to
increase their supply as they complete each circuit. Another way players
can gain on the competition is to improve their cars' handling,
acceleration and speed performance by using their prize money to purchase
turbo chargers, mega tires and powerful engines.

Pumped up to a pounding sound track and tire screeching sound effects,
players test their driving skills on a sandy beach, icy snowtops, a windy
harbor, a treacherous mountain range, twisty suburban cul-de-sacs, or in
congested downtown streets. Choosing from one of three difficulty levels,
players using the two-player mode can join forces to blast away opponents
or choose to race head-to-head against one another. The split screen
option adds another challenging dimension since players never know what
their opponent will do next.

"What makes this game so much fun is that it's so easy to play," said Pete
Pavich, the producer of the game. "Sega owners are going to find
themselves playing this game again and again because it's easy, yet it's
so addictive. It's also challenging because as your driving gels better,
the driving of the guys racing against you gets better too. This is a game
that begs you to try and beat your last score."
