RUPP TECHNOLOGY UNVEILS FASTLYNX LITE FOR DOS

Memory saving, DOS-specific Software Utility Program Offers High Speed
PC-to-PC Data Transfers

July 7, 1994 -- PHOENIX, Ariz. -- Rupp Technology Corporation has
introduced FastLynx Lite for DOS, a streamlined DOS-oriented file transfer
program that provides rapid file and data movement between connected
personal or portable computers in either serial or parallel transfer
modes.

FastLynx Lite for DOS is the newest member of Rupp's critically acclaimed
"Lynx" family of computer data transfer products which now includes
WinLynx for PCs running the Windows operating system, and RuppLynx for
Wizard for linking PCs to the Sharp electronic organizer. A lean, easy to
use software utility, FastLynx Lite also allows users of one connected PC
to access the disk drives and printers attached to the other.

Using the enclosed serial transfer cable, FastLynx Lite for DOS can achieve
speeds of up to 2 MBytes per minute. With optional parallel transfer
cabling available from Rupp Technology, FastLynx Lite can also boost
transfer speeds to nearly 8 MBytes per minute.

"FastLynx Lite for DOS is an ideal file transfer option for PC users who
continue to spend a great deal of their computing time within DOS
applications." explained Rupp Technology Vice-President Shelly Lipkin.
"With its streamlined memory requirements and powerful device drivers,
this latest data transfer product from Rupp can be used by virtually any
level of PC user to manage file movement and copying." Lipkin added.

Also "streamlined" is the suggested retail price of FastLynx Lite -- at
approximately one-third of the list price of most of the leading PC file
transfer programs now on the market.

Far from streamlined in performance, FastLynx Lite for DOS also offers a
station-to-station data transfer capability across a network environment.
This innovative network management feature allows users to bypass the file
server for direct peer-to-peer file transfers via a Novell IPX network
driver.

Other popular features common to Rupp's family of file transfer programs
include "on-the-fly" file compression -- which can double file transfer
speeds -and automatic upload (remote transfer) via "cloning" -- a
proprietary feature first offered in Rupp's original FastLynx and now
imitated by most competitors.

Also standard is an extensive diagnostic program, auto port and auto baud
configuration, and support for both Checksum and CRC error correction
schemes. Three simplified user interfaces -- split screen, form and
command line modes -- allow both new and experienced file transfer
software users to select the format most compatible with their file
management practices.

Drawing on its past experience with the industry's most critically
acclaimed file transfer programs -- Fastwire and FastLynx -- Rupp
Technology developed FastLynx Lite for DOS as a easy-to-use software
utility that uses much less memory than any multi-OS option now available.
FastLynx Lite for DOS requires only 200 KBytes of RAM to run and stores in
an even smaller amount of disk space.

FastLynx Lite for DOS comes equipped with both 3.5- and 5.25-inch floppy
disks and Rupp's unique 10-foot, four-headed 7-wire serial cable with both
9 and 25 pin connectors on each end to meet any interconnection scheme. In
addition. Rupp's proprietary 18-wire parallel cable -- the "express lane"
of file transfer cabling -- is available as an option for even greater
file transfer speeds of up to 8 MBytes per minute.

System software requirements for running FastLynx Lite for DOS include
minimum DOS version 2.0.

FastLynx Lite for DOS is now available coast-to-coast, and directly from
Rupp Technology, at a suggested U.S. retail price of $59.95.

Founded in 1985. Rupp Technology Corporation is based in Phoenix and
maintains divisional offices in Los Angeles and New York. A pioneer in a
variety of file management technologies. Rupp was the first to offer
serial and parallel cable transfer together in the same product, remote
file transfer software installation and a true Windows file transfer
environment.
