Folio and Reach Software Announce Integration of Folio VIEWS 3.1 and Reach
WorkMAN Professional

June 28, 1994, Salt Lake City, Utah --Folio Corporation, the leading
provider of infobase technology, and Reach Software Corporation, the
leading provider of workflow software solutions, today announced a joint
development agreement to provide integration between Folio VIEWS 3.1 and
Reach WorkMAN Professional The agreement will produce the first
infobase-enabled workflow solution, and will give WorkMAN users
significant new information management capabilities. The announcement was
made at Infobase '94, the annual Conference for users, resellers and
publishers of Folio Infobase Technology products and services.

The integration will give Reach WorkMAN Professional users greatly expanded
capabilities to store and retrieve timely process information. The
integration will provide Folio VIEWS 3.1 users with the industry leading
workflow capabilities of Reach WorkMAN Professional.

The integration will occur through software jointly developed by Folio and
Reach that accesses the extension API (application programmer interface)
of the Folio VIEWS 3.1 Infobase Manager client and adds command functions
to the WorkMAN script language. Developers of WorkMAN applications will be
able use the WorkMAN script language to define workflow scripts that
automatically populate infobases with information from WorkMAN forms. Once
stored in the infobase, WorkMAN users will be able to search the full-text
of the workflow infobase for instant retrieval of any piece of information
relating to the workflow process.

"Workflow processes assume that the people involved have the information
they need to make informed decisions and act on tasks they receive Folio
infobases are the best way to ensure that up-to-date information is
available to the people who need it," said Tracy Scott, president of Folio
Corporation. "Folio Infobase Technology is unmatched for providing people
not only with access to information, but also with the ability to adapt
that information to meet the specific requirements of their business.
Adding infobase technology to the Reach WorkMAN environment will create an
extremely powerful workflow solution."

"The integration of Folio VIEWS and Reach WorkMAN combines two critical
components needed to bring real productivity and effectiveness to an
organization Infobase technology coupled with leading workflow technology
provides companies with the ability to automate the access and
distribution of information in business processes," said Kim Peyser,
president of Reach Software Corporation "Dramatic increases in
productivity can be realized by providing efficient access to information
and accelerating the flow of work throughout the organization."

The following scenario, describing testing cycle of a new corporate
accounting system, illustrates how the integration can work and the
benefits it provides to WorkMAN users:

1. A prototype of the new accounting system is deployed in a workgroup.
Users begin reporting bugs and offering enhancement suggestions through
Reach WorkMAN.

2. Development staffers, being notified through WorkMAN, check the infobase
for reports of similar bugs and enhancement requests Bugs and enhancements
that already exist in the infobase are annotated, using Folio VIEWS, to
reflect the addition of new information Bugs and enhancements that are new
are reported through a WorkMAN entry template and routed to the
appropriate testing personnel for verification.

3. Testers receive the WorkMAN task and begin testing to try and re-create
the bug If more information is needed, testers can search the infobase for
additional details.

4. Once a bug is verified, testers pass the WorkMAN task on to the
appropriate developer who searches the infobase for all existing
information relating to the bug, then proceeds to fix the bug.

5. Changes are made to the code and development uses WorkMAN to notify
testers of the fix.

6. Testers test the new code, verify that the bug was fixed, then use
WorkMAN to mark the task as complete and the bug as "closed " The user is
notified through WorkMAN that the bug has been fixed.

All of the information generated through the testing process--the initial
report, new tasks, annotations to the infobase, closing reports--are all
automatically stored in the infobase where they are instantly available to
anyone with rights to use the infobase. In addition, the infobase could be
designed so that at any time, managers can quickly view a short synopsis
of each bug, a report of all open bugs, a list of enhancement requests,
open-ended user comments, a report of all closed bugs, or any number of
other useful "views" of the information that would make the process more
efficient and effective

Pricing and Availability

The Folio VIEWS/Reach WorkMAN integration software will be available in the
third quarter of 1994 Pricing will be announced later.
