CAPSOFT TO RELEASE NEXT GENERATION OF INTELLIGENT TEMPLATE SOFTWARE,
HOTDOCS 2.0 FOR WINDOWS

New Module to be Available for Database Integration

PROVO, UT, August, 1994--Capsoft Development Corporation, the long-time
leader in document assembly software for the legal market, today announced
the next version of its intelligent template software, HotDocs 2.0 for
Windows. The new software tool dramatically reduces the time users spend
assembling repetitive, routine business documents. HotDocs builds
intelligent templates within Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, and Lotus Ami
Pro by converting word processor documents into smart templates. Version
2.0, available August 1994 for $99, adds features that streamline the
process of creating, organizing, editing, and using customized templates.

"We developed HotDocs originally to benefit organizations in three specific
ways: to save businesses time and money preparing routine documents, to
ensure the accuracy of those documents by reducing the possibility for
error, and to help companies leverage their expertise by enabling them to
build expertise into an automated template," said Marshall Morrise,
Capsoft CEO. "With HotDocs 2.0, we've simplified and standardized the
process for creating templates so now virtually anyone can build and use
their own automated document assembly templates."

New to HotDocs 2.0

Capsoft developers have made this newest version of HotDocs even easier to
use by decreasing the number of steps required to create a template and by
making the creation process consistent for all word processors.
Additionally, the product offers new flexibility in organizing templates
and adds increased programming capabilities for more complex tasks.
HotDocs includes a host of new or enhanced easy-to-use features, including
the following:

* Library Feature

HotDocs 2.0 now manages the process of creating, editing, organizing and
using templates rather than requiring the user to know each word
processor's template manipulation methods. Whether using Word,
WordPerfect, or Ami Pro, users follow the same simple procedure to create,
edit, and use templates. Consequently, the process of going through a
series of potentially cumbersome steps has been eliminated and the
possibility of making an error during the creation process has been
dramatically decreased. The new library feature also gives users the
ability to organize templates topically into folders and eliminates the
time-consuming task of scrolling through a long list of template names.

* Enhanced Programming Capability

Users now have greater flexibility creating templates to customize more
complex document assembly tasks. The new version's scripting capabilities
in the computation variable have been substantially increased. Rather than
scripting a new computation variable each time a specific condition
exists, a user can now create the variable just once and insert it each
time the condition occurs. Users save substantial time using this
capability when creating lengthy or complex templates.

* Insert File Feature

The Insert File feature allows users to insert another document or HotDocs
template into the main template during the assembly process. Whenever a
file linked to one or more HotDocs templates is updated, the information
is automatically updated for all templates as well. This new feature
decreases the possibility of producing a document that includes inaccurate
statistics or an outdated paragraph.

* Optional Database Module

A HotDocs 2.0 database module will be available separately to users who
want to integrate ODBC-compliant database information into their
documents. Users save time by pulling database information directly into a
template instead of recreating names, addresses, and other data.

Document Assembly Made Easy

After receiving hundreds of requests to develop an inexpensive, streamlined
version of its high-end CAPS Author software, the legal and publishing
industry's document assembly standard, Capsoft Development Corporation
released HotDocs for Windows. With version 2.0, the company has made
HotDocs a more powerful and easier-to-use document assembly tool.

HotDocs 2.0 eliminates the need for users to write complex template macros
and enables even novice word processor users to build their own document
assembly templates. The software automates the production of everything
from routine business letters to lengthy loan agreements. To base a
template on a document, a user simply locates text that changes each time
the document is used and inserts a variable. To assemble a document, the
user answers questions based on the template's user-defined variables and
in a matter of minutes produces a completed, accurate document. Once a
template is built, it can be used indefinitely to automate the creation of
customized documents.

Small Business Productivity Tool

HotDocs was developed for any individual or organization looking to speed
up the production of routine documents. However, the software has
particular application for the small business and home office.

"HotDocs bridges the human resource gap between small businesses and large
corporations," stated Kent Lundin, HotDocs product marketing manager.
"Where large organizations have staff to draft, edit, and produce
documents, small business owners must rely on themselves. HotDocs allows
them to produce everyday documents in a fraction of the time previously
required."

Product Availability and Pricing

HotDocs 2.0 will be available August 1994 through retail channels and
outlets, mail order catalogs, and directly from Capsoft Development
Corporation for $99. Current HotDocs users can upgrade to HotDocs 2.0 for
