STEREOGRAPHICS, CHASM GRAPHICS INTRODUCE FIRST FULLY AUTOMATIC 3D STEREO
SYSTEM FOR WINDOWS

CrystalEyes PC and Sudden Depth Software Enable Users To Easily Create
Stereoscopic Presentations Using Photographic Slides and 3D Graphics
Packages

San Rafael, CA -- July 11, 1994 -- StereoGraphics Corporation, the world's
largest supplier of three-dimensional electronic stereo display equipment,
is introducing its CrystalEyes PC System and Chasm Graphics' Sudden Depth
stereoscopic image and presentation software tool kit for Microsoft
Windows.

"Up until now, creating three-dimensional stereoscopic images using
computer graphics or slides was too tedious for most mainstream PC users,
" said Wil Cochran, StereoGraphics' vice president of sales and marketing.
"With Crystal Eyes PC and Sudden Depth, anyone with two 35mm cameras or
most 3D graphics packages can create dazzling stereoscopic
presentations."

CrystalEyes PC converts a non-stereo-ready PC into a state-of-the-art
graphics platform for true 3D stereo visualization. The product displays
on-screen images with true stereo depth, which dramatically increases the
user's ability to analyze complex graphics and intricate details.

Crystal Eyes PC works with most popular desktop system platforms (using
stereo-ready monitors), including IBM PCs and compatibles, Apple
Macintosh, Power Mac and Power PC, as well as Amiga computers. The stereo
electronics and infrared emitter are included in a single small package
which sits on top of a stereo computer monitor. The stereo electronics
make the PC stereo-ready, while the emitter synchronizes the lightweight
(3 oz.), untethered CrystalEyes shuttering liquid crystal eyewear to the
image on a stereo-ready monitor.

A single cable ensures easy installation without opening the computer. The
CrystalEyes PC Model CE-PCE eyewear is available at $985 (a 17-inch
stereo-ready monitor is available with
eyewear for $2,380). StereoGraphics markets domestically through OEMs and
resellers, and internationally through distributors in Europe and the Far
East, including Japan, Hong Kong and Korea, as well as the rest of the
world.

Sudden Depth stereoscopic image and presentation software tool kit for
Microsoft Windows includes a unique user interface and special automatic
functions. Sudden Depth automatically calculates optimal camera separation
in Autodesk 3D Studio, matches palettes and edges, centers, aligns
horizontal and vertical dimensions separately and corrects for blank
intervals and resolutions. Sudden Depth does not require a special video
board and is available for $449 from Chasm Graphics.

In addition to computer graphics file support, Sudden Depth supports Kodak
Photo CD, making stereoscopic photography easy. A photographic stereo pair
is created using two conventional 35mm cameras. Next comes the inexpensive
processing of the stereo pair slides or negatives to a Kodak Photo CD.
Sudden Depth is used to align and view the stereo images, individually, or
as part of a slide show. No additional software from Kodak is needed.

"Sudden Depth was designed so that even a novice can automatically align
and fine tune stereo images with the click of a mouse" said Robert Akka,
president of Chasm Graphics, Fairfax, CA. "This innovative, affordable
technology enables all users to easily build professional stereo slide
shows and presentations."

Sudden Depth supports industry standard .TGA and .BMP bitmaps, from
monochrome to full 32-bit color, and takes full advantage of 256-color and
true-color Windows display drives at resolutions up to 2000 x 1600 pixels.
Sudden Depth's fast Depth Engine module handles all of the image
processing operations including automatic conversion of Autodesk 3D Studio
.3DS files, mouse-driven cropping, document size change and symmetrical
image field alignment, automatic aspect ratio adjustment, centering and
border matching, stereo palette matching and dithering operations.

Chasm Graphics, founded in 1993 to develop basic software tools that
simplify the creation of stereo images, can be reached at P.O. Box 1137,
Fairfax, CA 94978- 1137, phone/fax 415/456-3214.

StereoGraphics' patented CrystalEyes depth perception products utilize true
3D stereo to improve and dramatize viewing for a broad and diverse user
universe. CrystalEyes products provide stereo viewing for scientific
visualization, animation, medical imaging. surgical endoscopy, molecular
modeling, computer games, photogrammetry, location-based entertainment,
motion simulation, inspection systems, remote vehicle control, flight
simulation, corporate presentations and all types of education and
training.

CrystalEyes products are available with or for most major stereo-ready
workstations, personal computers, monitors and software programs.
Platforms include such major workstation OEMs as Silicon Graphics, Inc.,
Sun Microsystems, Digital Equipment Corp., Evans & Sutherland,
HewlettPackard, IBM and Kubota Graphics Corp. Personal computers include
